Where to Stay

There is a large range of accommodation options available in Exmouth from motels to self contained units and holiday homes, as well as resort style .

The Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort is a few kilometres from the main shopping area of Exmouth, but it sits right on the edge of Exmouth Gulf and offers the most luxurious accommodation in Exmouth with a beautiful outlook. Mantarays offer a free shuttle bus service for guests into the main shopping areas of Exmouth.

Exmouth Escape Resort offers very modern and comfortable villas surrounding a great pool and Whalers Restaurant.

Exmouth Holidays manage a variety of self contained holiday homes and self contained units.

Ningaloo Lodge is in a very convenient location - a short walk to the shops and many eating out options. It is clean and very comfortable and my clients that stay there are very happy.

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is a luxurious safari camp hidden in the white sand dunes of Western Australia’s Cape Range National Park. Nine spacious wilderness tents are just metres from the water’s edge and Ningaloo Reef.

We will be happy to discuss the options with you at any time.

Gear

We can supply all fly gear as part of your guided fishing day. However if you would like to bring your own fly gear, read below.

A 10 weight is the best all round fly rod for our fishing. The best general purpose fly line is the Scientific Angler Sonar Sink 30 clear, 350 grain, orange with a clear tip. Your 10 weight fly rod should be matched with a quality fly reel with at least 250 metres of 50 pound gel spun backing.

A floating fly line is also handy for throwing poppers or trying your luck at a milkfish.

A 12 weight fly rod with intermediate or floating line is handy for tackling monster trevally, billfish and XL cobia.

Our fishery is so diverse that a large variety of flies are required to cover all bases. In summary you will need clousers, deceivers, big Gotchas, weighted crazy charlies, shrimp and crab patterns, billfish tube flies...

Suitable flies are supplied at cost as part of the guided fishing. If you are a keen fly tier or want to get fully kitted up before arriving, email us for a detailed list of the best flies.

We recommend Costa polaroids and you will also need a lens cloth or tissues with lens spray to keep your polaroids clean. A hat, sunscreen and sensible clothing, including footwear that is ok to get wet getting in and out of the boat.

We cannot guarantee that any sensitive electronic equipment will remain dry in the boat so it is best to bring along a waterproof bag.
